Ondo State Police Arrest Suspect for Vehicle Theft, Recover Vehicle in Kano

The Ondo State Police Command has announced the arrest of one Adetokunbo Adeojoa, a 59-year-old man, for his alleged involvement in a vehicle theft case in Igoba, Akure North Local Government Area of the state.

Funmilayo Odunlami-Omisanya, the police spokesperson, revealed in a statement on Monday that the police swiftly responded to the report of the car theft and launched an immediate investigation into the matter.

According to the police spokesperson, the stolen vehicle was traced to Kano State, where the suspect had taken it with the intent to sell. However, the sale was unsuccessful because the prospective buyer demanded the original copies of the car documents, prompting suspicions.

Odunlami-Omisanya elaborated, saying, "But they were unable to sell the car because the buyer insisted on the original copies of the car documents, while they were trying to forge the document in Kaduna. The Police at Tafa Division Kaduna were informed, and his partner Felix Edward, 37 years, was arrested while he escaped."

In the course of the investigation, it was revealed that there was a third suspect involved in an argument with the arrested suspect, who is currently at large.

The arrest and recovery of the stolen vehicle demonstrate the dedication of the Ondo State Police Command to combatting criminal activities and ensuring the safety and security of residents. The command continues to encourage citizens to report criminal incidents promptly, assisting in the swift apprehension of suspects and the recovery of stolen property.
