Minister of State for Defence Condemns Abduction of Female Students in Federal University Gusau

The Minister of State for Defence, Dr. Mohammed Bello, has strongly condemned the recent abduction of female students from the Federal University Gusau. The abduction occurred last Friday when bandits attacked the students' hostel, leading to the abduction of 24 female students. Subsequently, troops managed to rescue six of the abducted students, while 18 remain in captivity.

Minister Bello expressed his heartfelt sympathy for the parents, the academic community, and the entire populace of Zamfara State in light of this tragic event. He unequivocally condemned the attack and called for the nation's security forces to intensify their efforts and deploy all available resources to ensure the safe return of the abducted students.

Furthermore, Minister Bello reiterated the government's commitment to strengthening national security for peace and prosperity, as part of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's eight-point agenda. He emphasized his determination to secure the release of the abducted students.

Assuring the people of Zamfara State, Minister Bello disclosed that both air and ground components of the military had been extensively deployed within the state. The government is committed to taking all necessary measures to protect the lives and property of all Nigerians.

The abduction of the female students has drawn nationwide attention and concern, highlighting the urgency of addressing security challenges in the country and ensuring the safety and well-being of students and citizens.
