Five Arrested in Niger State for Possession of Human Skull Linked to Money Ritual

 In a disturbing revelation, the Niger State Police Command has apprehended five individuals in possession of a human skull, shedding light on a macabre ritual practice. The suspects, upon their arrest, confessed to police authorities that they had been dispatched by an alfa (a spiritual leader) to obtain the skull for use in a money ritual. The whereabouts of the alfa, however, remain unknown.

The spokesperson for the state police command, Wasiu Abiodun, released a statement on the matter, providing details of the arrests. According to Abiodun, the two initial suspects, Isah Mohammed (26) and Idris Mohammed (28), both residents of Sakpe village in Edati Local Government Area, were apprehended during a routine patrol by a sister security agency along the Bida-Minna road. During the search of their vehicle, a Mitsubishi Lancer, authorities discovered a human skull concealed in a Bagco bag. Consequently, the two suspects were transferred to the Police Area Command in Bida for further investigation.

Subsequent police interrogations led to the revelation that the suspects had acquired the human skull from their village. They also identified three other individuals who had participated in the grave excavation where the skull was unearthed. These individuals include Ibrahim Jiya (18), Suleiman Usman (22), and Abdullahi Usman (24), all hailing from the same address as the initial suspects.

The discovery of a human skull in the possession of these individuals has raised concerns about the prevalence of occult and ritual practices within certain communities. The police are actively investigating the case to ascertain the extent of their involvement and to locate the alfa who allegedly orchestrated the ritual. This incident serves as a stark reminder of the need for continued efforts to combat such illegal and harmful activities within society.
