Federal Government Declares Public Holiday for Eid-ul-Maulud Celebration

The Federal Government of Nigeria has announced that tomorrow will be observed as a public holiday to mark this year's Eid-ul-Maulud celebration, which commemorates the birth of Prophet Muhammad.

The declaration was made by the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, on behalf of the federal government. Dr. Tunji-Ojo extended his congratulations to all Muslims, both within Nigeria and in the Diaspora, on the occasion of this year's Eid-ul-Maulud celebration.

In a statement issued by the Ministry of Interior's Permanent Secretary, Dr. Oluwatoyin Akinlade, the minister urged Nigerians, especially the youth, to embrace the spirit of love, patience, tolerance, and perseverance, which are fundamental spiritual virtues exemplified by Prophet Muhammad. He emphasized that practicing these virtues would contribute to fostering peace, security, and harmony in the country.
