Army Rescued 6 Female Students of Zamfara Vasity From Armed Bandits

Zamfara State, Nigeria - In a chilling incident that unfolded in the early hours of Friday, armed bandits in large numbers descended upon the female hostels in the Sabin Gida area of Zamfara State. The attackers, under the cover of darkness, brazenly abducted an unspecified number of female students from the Federal University Gusau (FUG).

According to an eyewitness account from a resident of Sabon Gida named Mohammed Ameen, the assailants launched their assault around midnight on Thursday, targeting three female students' hostels situated outside the main campus of the university. Ameen, speaking over the phone, revealed the terrifying ordeal: "As I am speaking to you now, many of the female students were kidnapped by the bandits except those who narrowly escaped."

Amidst the chaos, Nigerian Army personnel swiftly arrived at the scene, engaging the bandits in a fierce gun battle in a bid to rescue the abducted students. However, the determined bandits managed to evade capture, fleeing with their victims in tow.

The situation escalated as operatives of the Joint Task Force, Operation Hadarin-Daji, later launched a rescue mission. Fortunately, six female students were successfully rescued during the operation.

The incident has sent shockwaves throughout Zamfara State, leaving both students and residents deeply concerned about the security situation in the region. Local authorities have launched investigations into the incident, and the Nigerian security forces are intensifying efforts to apprehend the fleeing bandits and secure the release of the remaining kidnapped students.

The safety and well-being of students and residents remain a top priority, and efforts are underway to bolster security in the affected areas to prevent future occurrences of such heinous acts. This incident serves as a stark reminder of the persistent security challenges facing the region and the urgent need for comprehensive measures to ensure the safety of its inhabitants.
