Former Nigerian Petroleum Minister Charged in UK

The UK's National Crime Agency (NCA) has charged former Nigerian Minister of Petroleum, Diezani Alison-Madueke, with bribery and fraud allegations.

The NCA suspects Diezani accepted bribes in exchange for awarding lucrative oil and gas contracts while serving as a minister. Diezani is scheduled to appear in Westminster magistrates court on October 2.

The NCA's Head of International Corruption Unit, Andy Kelly, detailed the charges, including financial benefits, luxury items, and properties allegedly received by Diezani.
