- The Federal Ministry of Transportation plans to reintroduce mass transit schemes in Nigeria's transport system, considering the integration of electric vehicles (EVs).
The move aims to mitigate rising transportation costs following the removal of fuel subsidies. Minister Ahmed Alkali highlighted the significance of affordability and policy measures supporting cheaper transport alternatives for Nigerians.
The Ministry will collaborate with relevant agencies to implement these policies and accommodate EVs in mass transit.
