Electronic Transmission of Results in Kogi Governorship Election, INEC Affirms

  • -INEC Adopts Electronic Results Transmission for Kogi Poll
  • -Committal to Curb Rigging and Ensure Transparency

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced its intent to electronically transmit the results of the Kogi State governorship election on November 11 directly from polling stations to its server.

At a media event in Abuja, the Resident Electoral Commissioner in Kogi, Prof. Gabriel Longpet, revealed this new approach aimed at eradicating rigging, electoral fraud, and other irregularities, thus fostering a credible and transparent voting process.

Longpet reassured voters that security concerns from the 2019 election have been tackled, urging them to participate in the secure voting environment. The state REC emphasized that the 2023 Kogi gubernatorial poll will be determined by the poll, not the gun, ensuring that the election outcome reflects the popular will.
