Chicago State University Responds to Atiku's Request on Tinubu's Academic Records

In a recent development, Chicago State University (CSU) has issued a response to Atiku Abubakar's request for the release of President Bola Tinubu's academic records. According to CSU, they would consider releasing President Tinubu's academic records if a United States court grants the necessary order. In an official statement, the American-based institution expressed its stance on the matter. CSU questioned the relevance of Tinubu's academic records to a 2023 election challenge in a foreign country and labeled certain aspects of the application as "clearly inappropriate." They pointed out that the application also sought employment details of a former employee. CSU's response, presented by their lawyer Michael Hayes, stated, "While the University reserves the right to raise further objections, the scope and relevancy of certain requests made by Abubakar are clearly inappropriate. For instance, Abubakar's request for information on diplomas issued by the University over a 44-year period and his inquiry about a former employee's departure from the University's General Counsel's Office are examples." The response also indicated that CSU would engage in discussions with Atiku's legal team should the court permit any form of discovery, in an effort to address concerns and find a resolution.
